PAEP Poster - "Playground"

playgroundChildren are no longer permitted to take peanuts to school but, generally speaking, they are still permitted to wear "scent" in schools - including chemical fragrances embedded in laundry detergent and fabric softeners.  Scent allergies are no laughing matter.  Allergies to "scent" can trigger asthma attacks or, worst case, an anaphylactic shock.
But Some schools are bucking the trend and have banned "scents" outright.  The reason for this is that "scents" in North America are generally composed of a soup of toxic chemicals that can cause "nausea,  vomiting, dizziness, shortness of breath, and a host of other serious adverse health effects according to research (2008) from the University of Washington conducted by Dr. Anne Steinemann.
